It is possible to get a KM DualScan IV to work on Windows 7, 10 or 11 without buying any additional software. I have done it. You just need to replace the original driver with a new one. The instructions in this link are for Windows Vista, but the driver code included works for 7, 10 and 11. The only caveat is that you need to restart Windows in a troubleshooting mode that allows bypassing the signature check during the installation.
I have happily used this wonderful scanner from when I bought for my XP computer up through an upgrade to 11 a few weeks ago. Each upgrade did require me to reinstall the new driver.

I presently use Viewscan on Windows 10 Pro. Not moving to Win 11 as I have an older computer that runs everything I need (Photoshop, DxO Photolab) except the latest Topaz AI programs.
I've used VueScan for years, and find I get much better scans with it than with the OEM software. It also has more flexibility than the original software.
