Reminds me of my first car--a 1955 Chevy purchased 1966 for $135. Drove it about 75 miles before the sawdust blew out of the rear main bearing and I limped home filling it with cheap oil every ten miles. Sold it to a young mechanic for $25 who was tickled to have and repair it.

What a beauty, Dennis! I still think it is the best looking of the 50s Chevys.

I never cared for the '56, but I loved the '55. Changes to the grille and taillights didn't do it for me.

aw now Mike, lets not forget the batwing '59 (I know, a tad gaudy, but in all black with red interior...wow)

Dennis thanks for the time travel, enjoyed the trip.

I like the way you fused the tri-5s, Dennis. The first two are shots of a '56 beautiful Belair. In number three I can't tell what year it is from the engine, but I'm guessing with a model of a '57 Belair on it's air cleaner(I can't imagine anyone would put a model of a '57 on a '56's air cleaner) that that one is '57 and of course the last one is a '55 Belair hardtop. Well done.

The 55 was their first V8, sure took GM a long time to consider the popularity of the 1932 Ford V8!! I had a 55 hand me down and drove it for years. I was a beautiful design. Your 56 photos brings back memories, I remember that dash well.
