Spent the morning walking around my local park that I frequent 2 times a week. After about 4hrs of walking, I got in my suv and drove around searching for hawks. As I was ready too give up, I noticed a male and female off in the distance. Got out of my suv and snapped some shots of the female. Sony a7r iv and Sony 600f4. Enjoy

great shot of a beautiful hawk!

Excellent shot, Thru-my-eyes, but... How exactly did you determine that this is a female? For all I know the plumage of this species is monomorphic.

I have always been told that female is bigger than the male. The male and female were together when I took the shot. This hawk was way bigger than the other hawk.
