After being alerted by a local newspaper that a Snowy Owl was spotted at a New Hampshire beach state park, I had to see if I could find and photograph her. I was fortunate that on my second visit I saw her down by the mouth of the river where it meets the ocean. Unfortunately, only one of my photos showed her face as she was facing the water. Nevertheless I’m happy that I spotted her even though she was a bit camera shy. Perhaps my next visit will result in better images. She is quite an impressive bird. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Beautiful! I’ve been trying to find one here in NJ but no luck so far
Beautiful! Thank you, she's definitely something we wouldn't come across here in Kentucky.

Thanks, I would not have even looked were it not for the newspaper article (which my wife found). Good luck.
Beautiful set, Doug! Your persistence paid off.

Thank you. I will go back once this frigid weather (-30 degrees with the wind chill) leaves.

You are correct, it’s Hampton Beach State Park. The owl was hanging out on the shore near the river just after it flows under the bridge. I’ve been there twice and she was there both times. I hope to keep checking. Good luck with your search.
I live on Long Island, we get Snowy Owls every winter. Unfortunately, when photographers find out they are here they come, walk on the dunes, (which is clearly marked not to walk on the dunes) and try to flush the owls to get them in flight.
It is so important to respect the owls. They sleep during the day and hunt early morning and evening.
I have been fortunate to get several Snowys.
This one was at a local beach club, I was so fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.
Nice. Probably facing the hunting grounds.
