Yesterday I did a service call in Tucson Arizona. I was working in a tack room that was part of a resort. Outside the tack room there were a multiple areas fenced in to keep waiting horses. I was sitting in my truck when I looked up and saw a bird, walking slowly at first, then very fast. Right behind it was what I thought at first was a dog. Nope! The bird was a Road Runner (yes, they are real birds) and what I thought was a dog on closer view turned out to be a coyote. My phone was in the tack room and my Nikon took too long to get out. I can't believe I missed the shot of a real life coyote chasing a real life road runner!
Speaking of Coyotes, went to Bosque Del Apache a couple weeks back and, while sitting there waiting for the Snow Geese to do something, Wiley showed up!
Yep, Murphy's Law rcirr.
Don
That's when I usually get my best photos. Waiting for something else to happen!

You can see it in his eyes...where the hell are the road runners!

Understood...but I don't have much time to wait for anything! Maybe when I retire...in a hundred years!
When such stuff happens right before my eyes Im quite content with MY real world personal experience. I would not digitally "embalm" the moment even if my camera were already at my eye for some other reason. Just not my way.
Being too unready to embalm it, you had no choice but to enjoy it in real time. And then you shared that with us, resulting in my seeing it waaaaaay better than any embalmed version could have provided. Mental images are far superior to digital. So ... THANK YOU !

I expect that so many geese can readily transform any coyote into vulture chow.

Live & learn. Create your own luck by having the camera on the front seat and turned to the on position why you're in the truck in a location like that. Just a thought. I have them every once in a while.
Beep Beep.
Still amazing to see.
