I've seen around here in 40+ years. They were on top of my neighbor's pine tree. She spotted them and called me saying "come see my bald eagles. I grabbed my camera and ran down there. I got within about 300 yards and took a couple of quick photos that were way too slow ss for the lens. I changed to 1/1000, f6.3, 300mm, and got a couple of good photos before they took flight. i couldn't pan to get an in-flight. They took off as soon as I got these few.

There is some blue banding ini a couple, that was in the raw photo, and I can't get rid of it.

Great photos of the eagles. Hopefully they will be there more often and you will be able to set up with a tripod.

Thanks, Ken...It was a short notice and when I got within about 300 yards, they took off, and They were faster than me and I couldn't find them in flight for a photo. I don't usually shoot birds, So I do feel lucky.

Thanks, Jim. I agree, at least for me. I did get lucky and had the 70-300 on the camera, thinking about starting to photograph birds.
