Dreams do come true. I just picked up my new Sony 600f4 and I can’t wait too take it out birding hopefully this weekend. Gonna be extremely cold the next few days. I can’t wait too see how well it does here at my local park with all the birds.
Oh my, what a lens! Have fun. I can’t wait to see those bird photos.

It is simply the best hand held 600 f4 I have ever used. I shoot off the Sony a1. Focusing is quick and accurate. You will enjoy it.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
It's the best 600mm f/4 out there...enjoy!!
Lucky you, have fun!
That counter looks like Normans Camera!

Wow! What did you do for your wife today. All of us here think she is amazing, considering she got it for you.
You are going to love this lens, they just don’t get any better. And yes, some can hand hold it successfully, especially for action considering you are only on your subject for a very short duration. But for perched birds, where you need to stay focused on the subject, you will need support. And, it works really well in the cold too!
Have fun and we look forward to seeing some images.
Thank you and can’t wait too take it outside soon
Enjoy your new most excellent lens. Mounting on the A1?
