I was out looking for some photo opportunities this afternoon but nothing was attracting my attention until I came up on a farm with a real lighthouse attached to the farmer's home! It was quite a surprise since there are no bodies of water anywhere near there! At first, I thought it might be a cleaver silo but when I saw it attached to the back of the house, it seemed not to be so.

Kinda looks like it's built like a silo, with the stays around it.
Water storage?
He just wanted something different?
Likes lighthouses?

I bet there have been no watercraft accidents near this structure. It seems to be doing its job.

Some people have good ideas: this owner wants probably to have an higher "spot for observation" to shot sunrises and/or -sets while keeping dry and warm? what ever is the reason, this picture is nice and interesting

Interesting!! maybe the farmer likes to keep an eye on his neighbors, or the nudist camp down the road.

...and somewhere out there, a lighthouse keeper is scratching his head and mumbling, "Now, where did my lighthouse go? Those kids'll take anything on Halloween!"

That is unusual but an attention getter.

Definitely an observation tower of some sort. If you zoom in there’s a large telescope in there.

In the early days of flight these lights were spaced far apart as beacons to establish flight paths. They kept the pilots on the route and kept them from getting lost. Most are gone now. Could this be a remnant of that system?
