I am originally from Connecticut and have been living in SW Miami, Florida for almost 11 years. At the moment it is 80° here and I just returned from walking my dogs. All along the walk I saw people wearing jackets and even a few with scarves. They look at me, wearing a tee shirt, like I am crazy. I miss the four seasons.

So many aspects of this photo are terrific, except one. Knowing you might have to go out in that stuff...

I no longer HAVE TO go out in the snow, barring a medical emg. and then it's up to the EMTs.
In my 60+ years of working I never missed going to work due to the weather and was only late two or three times.
There were a few times there was no one to let me in so I could work after a couple of times of this I requested a key and alarm code(when there was an alarm) after I worked a few weeks. There were many times I was the only person there, what a great day nice and peaceful!!.
Sometimes I would crash at the shop because of the distance I had to travel. At a one job I would start an hour early and begin starting buses so they would be warm and could leave the lot on time, checking the school closures when this happened back outside and shut them off .
We sound quite a bit alike Manglesphoto. Well - except 70+ here. I, too, always went in early to work - until they made me a VP - that is. Then I found staying late was way more productive. (Oh we published a weekly newspaper)
If I never have to go out early a.m. again it will be a good thing. But it is far better because snow/ice is no longer something to deal with. Thanks for the insights in your post.

I was just a mechanic when I retired @age77 and the only time I stayed late was to make sure the equipment I was working would be ready or the const. would know why it wasn't.
I liked working 4:00am to 12:pm no traffic either way.
"Just?" Sounds like you were invaluable to that operation and your work ethic was A-1.
76 here and still working a little at my dying sign shop. Or man-cave as the wife calls it.
