I use a Western Digital SSD. At the end of the day. I plug the SD card in directly or through an reader/adapter and they are automatically downloaded. Once I'm home I transfer the photos to my computer for editing and deleting. I do very little (usually no) editing while traveling because...I'm traveling and want to spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of where ever I am - not in the hotel room playing with my photos.

Not "smiles." Similes - the process of stating that one thing is "like" another thing, as opposed to a metaphor, which states that one thing is another thing. "like" 14,000. What is 14,000 like?

And while I have used burst shooting at times, it is usually not necessary. Check out the attached, taken with 1 shot, using a little sister to the camera you are using so profligately.

Cool shot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I bought an Apple "Lighting to SD Card Camera Reader". Made by Apple, bought at Walmart. My Apple IPAD is several years old but had no problems using the card reader on two trips last year. I use 32 GB SD brand card readers and changed the card in my camera at least once, sometimes more a day. I did not use the card again until I had downloaded the pictures onto my desktop when I got home. Only then did I format the cards for reuse. An analysis of my pictures found that I could have used 16 GB cards instead of the 32 GB.

Of course, what you do is dependent upon how many and the type of pictures that you take. If you expect to take lots of videos then the cards that you will need can be expensive. I use SanDisk 32 GB Extreme Pro (100 MB) cards and have never had a problem. I shot almost exclusively landscape type photos and seldom take a picture that includes some type of action. Hope this helps. If you need and more information, please feel free to contact or call me at 615-739-3139.

Yes thought of that here is the rub I have a Sony A1 and A7rV that use the type A cf cards a set is like 700$. I could use SD cards but the last the last vacation I took (month in Hawaii) I came back with like 14,000 photos. And both cameras make huge big files. I could buy a Mac book Air for what that would run in cards to store that many photos. The A1 at like 20+FPS makes a lot files with one shutter click. And what am I shooting…..birds. And hopefully a maybe bear and a whale or two with an occasional landscape thrown in.

I have looked at Wester Digitals web site, Best Buy and B&H. All I can find is had drives that are required to be plugged into something. Do you know model name?

This is the Western Digital SSD that I have. It can be used stand alone or plugged into a computer. The SD card slot allows copying files directly to the drive without any computer or tablet. https://www.westerndigital.com/en-ie/products/portable-drives/wd-my-passport-wireless-ssd#WDBAMJ5000AGY-EESN

I hope this helps.

I have on. It’s great. They no longer make it. Maybe you can find one used on eBay.

I just received that unit yesterday and am currently trying it. But it seems to not recognize my SSD drive. (SanDisk Extreme Pro 2tb) It will only recognize a thumb drive and seems very very slow to transfer files from the camera card to the thumb drive. It took 4 minutes to transfer 7 files. I also only have some old thumb drive that I know the transfer speed is not that great on this old thumb drive so looking to see if I could find a thumb drive with fast transfer speed.

The Western Digital device is discontinued.

Wow, it's supposed to work with a hard drive.
