They're distracting. Once I see 'em, can't appreciate anything else in the image. Weak mind I guess.

Mine too. Occasionally, if I get a nice image of an English Cottage I'll try to take of everything that wasn't there originally. Aerials, phone Lines, Power Lines, etc. Each to their own I guess.

And I don't even have a good, solid, compelling, high-falutin' aesthetic argument for having made the choice.

Or maybe I do, but just haven't come up with a way to describe it quite yet.

Nice one! Maybe frame below the lines "pano" style.......

Oh, I'd remove them because I'm just a tad OCD. Once I've seen them . . . I begin to itch. Maybe therapy?

Electro therapy maybe?

There is no relevance to keeping them.
Many times power lines etc. are kept as they are a relevant piece.

No good, solid, compelling, high-falutin' aesthetic argument needed. Just do it and don't tell us they were ever there.

Cropping the top changes the picture, the blue sky, even with the power lines, makes it seem a lot more open.

If you were thinking of printing it to sell it, then taking out the power lines seems like a good idea.

Of course the "...good, solid, compelling, high-falutin' aesthetic argument for having made the choice." could be simply, "I did not want to." It is a personal choice and to me they are hardly visible and not a true distraction.

Some interesting responses, to be sure. Some pretty much on target, others.... well.... there certainly were some 'others'.

Not that any were all right (ulp! should that have been written "alright"?) or any were all wrong, or even that any weren't read and/or appreciated, but....

I'll just leave it with where I first left it: "or maybe I do..."

I really like how the snow on the left changed in post-processing.

That's not like you at all, Hereford. To have misspelled 'married' like that is just so, so egregious. (Or could that be blamed on some autocorrect function going haywire along the way?)
