Being watched throughout my walk

During my walk at Hildacy Preserve, I saw a couple of woodpeckers but not much else. This doe kept an eye on me and quickly disappeared every time I raised my camera. I was lucky to get off a shot.

Great shot! I sometimes think our camera gear looks like guns to wildlife. Thanx for sharing.

nice shot ... i think that sometimes the wildlife knows that they're being watched which, in their experience, is followed by being chased and eaten, so they're a bit off about being photographed.

I agree - I try to be inconspicuous but I'm too large for that!

Yes, they don't have wilderness anymore and finding refuge in the burbs is problematic (even in a preserve).

LOL! Me too 6'5" 245 lbs- big guy! Plus big, black things that are tinted at the critters-makes them nervous.

Fast reflexes, Elliott. Wildlife only see a giant "eye" staring at them when they see a camera.

Quite the fortuitous shot Elliott. If I shot them I'd probably have a white flag as they went crashing back into the cover of the woods. If you are planning on a trip to Middle Creek this winter let me know. Just not on a weekend!
