Recently I have been playing around with "art from scratch" in Photoshop. These are two images I developed last week using only Photoshop and a blank canvas. The first is a Haida raven image that was inspired by several different images I found on-line. The second image was inspired by a Pendleton blanket I own. I changed each image substantially to make them more "mine", but neither image came straight out of my mind. Never-the-less, I like how these turned out and wanted to share them. Your comments, thoughts, criticisms and suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks for taking a look.

Thank you both very much.
I don’t think it matters that the idea for the image came from elsewhere, that’s simply the ‘inspiration’ side of things. What matters is you created something unique to yourself even if similar to that inspirational image. It’s definitely yours - and very nicely done too. I guess you made selections to create the shape and then filled them? That’s how I work when I haven’t got a photo of something I need for a composite. Doing that and adding textures can be very creative. Keep it up and post more!

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, that has been my approach. The blanket was relatively easy. I found the raven to be more difficult to get the dimensions right. I finally crafted the raven head first to help me develop the dimensions I wanted for the body.
Very pleasing to view and interesting to know your process. Thanks!

Both are amazing, but #1 is an absolute knockout . . .
I like 'em, but why not use a 'blanket or linen weave' for the texture?

Good idea. How do I do that?
Thank you all for leaving me encouraging comments. When you are all by yourself, it helps to get some encouragement.
