Online Directions - A Pet Peeve

I made a system image last week, and I wanted to do an incremental. I didn't see that choice in Macrium, so I looked for help online - and I found it, sort of. The detailed directions must be for a different version of Macrium because my program (2022) doesn't have what the directions show. I find this happening time after time. The detailed directions don't match what I have. I clicked on Help in Macrium, entered "incremental," and it explains what it is and how it works. How to actually do it? No.

Yea, that's also a problem with other things.
Searches yield directions for older software versions, that have been around a while.

The directions I found are from Macrium, so that's especially annoying. I'll look on YouTube.

I have run into similar problems (many) more than once.
I try to always include the date in any software I write. I don't do it commercially, it's just for me, but it helps to know which version I have. Of course there are no help websites because I wrote the software and if I have a problem I'm not likely to explain the solution to myself on a webpage.
As far as incomplete information is concerned, I frequently look at the internet for news. There is LOTS of incomplete information there. A news story will let everyone know that there was a big fire that impacted hundreds of people in Johnson City. Or in Blefuscu County. They fail to mention what state. Is that close to me or on the other coast? Sometimes they don't even mention what country is involved.

I hate it when they do that. I know that WABC is east and KABC is west, but it's nice to know where a news event is happening.

I find that many advertisement shown street maps do not have street names on most if not all streets and roads. Interesting . . . how could one use the map if they were from another area?

incremental backups are not included with the free version of Macrium. You can only do full and differential with the free version.
Also, there will not be any more updates to the free version.

All of my backups in Acronis are incremental. Very easy!! One also has the option to begin a new chain of incremental backups in a given number of initial backups. I don't use that anymore, but it was my usual method for a long time. Last week, I wanted to create two new sets of incremental backups of each of my internal drives (6). I created 2 new incremental backups (each on a different external) for each drive. (I have 4 externals). I completed the task in about 6 - 7 hours. Then I deleted the old incremental backups. My backups run every Sat. at 12:00 AM. Since they are incremental, it does not take very long.

Ah, problem solved. So, I wasted almost two hours making an image I'll never use. Now I'll have to do the same with something else. Why couldn't anyone online mention that?!

Try Aomei Backup or EaseUS To Do Backup.(that may not be the exact name).
