Great shot no camera shake. I'd like to know how you shot it, at what distance, hand held, shutter speed and aperture. I see the water in the background blurred, my guess it was fast moving water.

Iā€™m glad you like it! I shoot my birds at high shutter speeds. This was at 1/1600 sec., which is actually slower than usual. I shoot in manual with auto ISO. The aperture on this shot was f6.3 and the ISO ended up at 1,100. I am no good at figuring distances, but this was cropped quite a bit, which was made possible by the high resolution of the Z9. The high frame rate helps in capturing the best image in a series. The water was not flowing, but it was being churned up a bit by the anhinga as it struggled to swallow the fish.

The Anhinga and the fish definitely have a different view of the situation. Nikon Z9/500mm PF.

Nice shot. A few years ago I watch one try to get a fish down for about 20 minutes before he dropped and lost it to a snapping turtle waiting below him.

8356 x 5504 before cropping. Curious why you ask?

Appears to be a very thorough dental exam.
