got my first camera in the 60s' shot a whole roll of film on day one.
took it to the drug store, then wait and wait andwait. The lady in the store must have been getting annoyed with me asking every day.
Finally they are here, there goes my hard earned allowance.
first one al white, second one all white and on and on. oh wait I did get a pic of the ceiling ....... didnt take me long to get frustrated . In the drawer it went cause it must have been junk.
being 10 years old and knowing everything i was sure it was the camera and NOT me.
The first camera I bought for myself (in High School) was a pretty complete Retina 3C kit, including the wide-angle and 80mm lenses, filters, auxiliary finder. I used to do a lot of bicycle riding then and carried it in an army surplus ammo pouch clipped to my belt.
The second was a Zeiss Super Icomat (pre-WW II) folding 6cmx4.5cm 120 film rangefinder that also fit in the ammo pouch. Both were excellent cameras. There was an element of subversive delight in pulling out those cameras, unfolding them, and grabbing a frame or two of something interesting along the way.
I still have the Icomat. A different 3C sits in my collection now.

When I first use my father camera it took me a week to finish the roll. After another week of waiting all the pictures came out fine. Good focus good exposure.
Today I don't have that any more.

Both were excellent "real" cameras. Although I shot 3.25x4.25 cut film back then, my enlarger was an Eastman Precision--double condenser enlarger of 2.25x3.25 size like your roll film so I had to crop everything somewhat.---------ew
