I could write reams, replete with memories remembered of hikes I've done in Arches Nat'l Park's 'Fiery Furnace', but those would relate to me, not to you. I could go on and on and on about the pleasures and the challenges, professionally, interpersonally and photographically, but what would be the point?

So rather than bore anybody with any of that, here's a sampling of the shots I shot today with friends in 'The Furnace'. Others may inevitably be posted. But not before I've had some dinner. And gotten some sleep.

Where's the like button? Love the second one. I wasn't impressed when we were there, but it was a cloudy day.

The 'like' button has been strategically placed behind that vase of posies on the lower shelf, APL. To access it, just ring around that bowl of partially eaten hog jowls and tap the button three times. (It's a little rickety --there's apparently a bad connection or something-- so the first two taps usually don't work.)

Frankly, I wasn't real impressed, either. The day started out sunny and bright, but by the time we actually got 'into' the Furnace, the sky got overcast and rather blah, so we never got any of the reflected light I'd have otherwise expected to see. Passed by any number of subjects that, with just the tiniest bit of light, would potentially have made good photos, but it was what it was, and I tried to make the best of what actually was rather than what actually wasn't. Naturally enough, about the time we got 'out' of the Furnace, the overcast dissipated and out came the sun. Oh, well.
