Apples to apples,is there really any reason to shop anywhere other than B&H...Remember they are rated by Consumer Reports Mag.#1 mail order company anywhere for any product. I have priced my eyes of looking for 6d and 5dmkII...several L lenses, tripods, aliean bees and several other items. No one that i can find out prices B&H. I am ready to make a significant purchase and thought I would bounce my findings around the forum...thank you in advance. One more thing. I have found some prices that seem to good to be true and i chose to ignore those completely.

Personally like Cameta for prices. They've beat B&H so far for me.

I have used B&H for over twenty years, they have never given me a reason to try any place else.

I checked out Cameta. As usual both places offer a mixed bag makeing it diffacult to compare "apples to apples". The price on the 6d was identical at both retailers.

Adorama, for the same price/same camera and lens, added extra battery (manufacturer's), Sandisk 32GB class 10 U1 SD card, clear protection filter made by camera manufacturer, nice camera bag.
B&H had no bundle at all.

If the dealer is reputable, Prices Rule. If someone is selling a DSLR for $200 less than anyone else, beware.

I buy almost everything from Amazon. I get one or two day delivery, and their prices are generally the best. If they're charging more, then I look elsewhere. I've also bought lots of photo equipment from Adorama.

Free shipping is getting to be more common, so I look for that.

If you like B&H, there's no reason to switch.

At the prices camera commands I want to hold it, look at it and try it and have soemone to answer my questions. The dealer I go to, Service Photo, will usually if not alway match B&H and Adorama on price. For what its worth, they are in Baltimore and do business by phone and internet. They are one of the Googel ads that show up here from time to time.

We should all be so lucky to have a well stocked quality camera store to walk into and browse, hold, try, etc. I'm not that lucky and for me B&H is my go to and when I'm in NYC I always try to get there but sadly that doesn't happen to often.

Normally my first stop is B&H. Unless you need to order on Saturday they are usually extremly fast getting it out the door. They sometimes have items that are only available to them. I recently bought a special version of the Probe 90 Manffrotto tripod that was exclusive to B&H. They are also very efficient in resolving issues. My next stop is Amazon. I asked for some light modifiers for Xmas and submitted a list of several models and makes to my wife that were acceptable letting her sort of surprise me. All the prices were comparable but one of the items was not immeadiately available and another did not have free shipping from B&H. So Amazon got the nod.
