In Canada they are going to Shutterfly as well. My letter did not state a discount like someone mentioned in the US. I used to use Shutterfly but the exchange rate and shipping increased the cost so much I stopped. I use blacks.ca for good quality books and Costco when I needed to keep the cost down to resell.

I will compare pricing with blacks once Costco changes in Canada as I think the quality with Shutterfly is comparable.

The same letter (that I received) states that: "Costco members will receive 51% off every Shutterfly order plus free shipping on orders over $49"

So I don't know if that means that discount applies only currently, or anytime a Costco member orders...

Costco had free shipping. That saved you a lot of money if you are making small order test prints.

Free shipping didn't apply to Canadian orders.

I spent a lot of time researching the other options I have to replace Costco. The big difference will be shipping costs. While I can get standard photos up to 8x10 at Walgreens and CVS the quality isnt as good as Costco plus with them I could go to 20x30.

The other choices pretty much had the same issue - shipping costs were terrible. One went free after $100 purchase, others charged $10 (for a $3 8x10) etc.

The best solution for me is White House who ships for free after any $16 order. Prices are good, they have lots of options including fine art, large images, with backings, etc.

Photo Canvasland as mentioned by someone was interesting as they only print with backings and it is $10 flat fee for a purchase no matter how many prints in the order.

MPIX, Nations, SnapFish, Printique and Shutterfly all had awful shipping costs. The discount on Shutterfly makes them the lowest priced online print house but their shipping costs make up for it quickly.

So how is White House a print shop? Pros and Cons?

Same question about Photo Canvasland?

Costco is the company I've used for years for my annual gift calendars. I hope Shutterfly is up to the challenge.

I like Shutterfly, but they are more expensive. Allegedly, though, if you're a Costco member, you get a discount -- 51%, I think.

ok more. I got my Costco email today to transfer my account to Shutterfly with the 51% discount and free shipping after $49 order. I am looking at putting an order to Costco before they shut down on the 28th as their prices are still cheaper.

Doing more research I have found the best values I see seem to be Photo Canvasland, Millers and White House. I have never used these houses so I am going to have to do some test prints (ugh). The big factor is shipping. Canvasland ships for a flat $10 for any order, plus all of their prints have backings. Both Millers and White House have free shipping after a small order of $15 or $16 not $49 like Shutterfly.

But this is where it becomes interesting - I like having a backing like Styrene.

If you look at a 16x20 print with Styrene here are the 3 prices including shipping

Canvasland $31
Millers $25.99
White House $32.85

Returns

I can’t find White House or Millers information so I have question into their support.

PhotoCanvasLand.com is committed to high quality photo canvas and your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed! If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of receipt and receive a free replacement or a full refund for the price of the product.
