I believe a carburetor distributes gas and it IS a light. Lighten up a bit.

Once upon a time back in the 19th century there was a period when candlelight was the major source of illumination for homes until someone invented the kerosene lantern and made it possible to generate variable light intensity and ran on a replenish-able fuel. Burning flames and liquid fuels brought their own problems including soot all over the house broken glass lamps burning houses down, etc. by the turn of the 20th century natural gas was being produced by the growing petrochemical industry and it quickly became adapted to supplying homes with gas for cooking and also for … yep gaslights.
Hot on the heels of this emerging technology, another contender for supplying power to homes, cities, etc etc was the emergence of electricity which quickly displaced the need for dirty hydrocarbon lamps and were much much safer. In spite of the electric revolution, many cities maintained small pockets of historical districts where small shops and restaurants were decorated with gas-lights and the atmosphere accoutrements of a past time was kept alive.
St. Louis had a Gaslight Square which was in the heart of the jazz and blues culture and was the stomping grounds for Miles Davis during their Century. San Diego had a Gaslight District and Austin had some boutique areas with gaslight… My earlier comment was a tongue in cheek reference to gas-light being associated with the auto carbureted lamp in the image. I believe there was a few folks who may have understood that. Now you can buy electric bulbs that emulate gaslight flames. Piggy the poor folk who had to watch Netflix by candlelight.

Nice. What octane fuel does that lamp take?
