I was checking my feeders out a side window the other morning to see if they needed attention when I saw a fresh trimmed bush start to shake and the branches really swaying quickly... so I focused on the bush top & this Spotted Towhee worked his way through the interior then popped out for a look around. This is becoming routine with all the Juncos & Chickadees & Towhees doing this all day long lately. the bushes make a perfect cover, it is on the South side so warmer in Winter yet in the shade in the Summer & thus cool. there are 7 of them & are kept trimmed. Hawks have never been very successful here only capturing 5 or 6 over several years. the resident Towhees have learned to use the seed trays & not just hop & scratch on the ground looking for dropped seeds. Now they go right to the source & chase off the Finches for some seeds! He had is eye on the sunflower seed tray the whole time!

Beautiful, and it certainly seems as if they are perfectly camouflaged for that particular environment 🀎🀎⭐🀎🀎

They blend in with their surroundings...we have some here but it's quite a challenge to get a shot of them.
