Yes, the discolored leaves are non-traditional. I like the photo. Good composition and exposure. It's a "Keeper."

pick 6-8, flatten in your webster (or other) and backlight 'em and get in close with your macro lens. results i think would be much better and more interesting than yoour original image. imho

"The leaves decay, the leaves decay and fall," according to some old poet. And they do. Nature can be messy. I find nothing objectionable with your photo.

I like this image, but would like to see it as a culmination of a series; first the general scene of the area where the tree grows, the tree itself and finally the leaves as you have shown them.

Interesting idea. Thank you for looking.

Maybe crop it so the subject leaf is closer to the right 1/3 to eliminate some of the busy background on that side. Might give it a little more pop. The colors are nice.

I can see a lot of people not caring for the image since it is not pretty. What this image offers if considered for a commercial or editorial usage, it illustrates decay which is part of a plant's life.

A photo researcher if looking for such an image would have limited choices because most folks would just be photographing pretty.

That makes. this image marketable if the photographer is involved in efforts to sell their images.

Thank you. I hadn't thought of that.
