Has anyone done the z9 update to V3?
If so how did it go?
I haven't heard of anyone doing it yet.

You might want to go to backcountrygallery.com where it has been discussed endlessly. I updated my Z9 along with my 4 z mount lenses. Everything went smoothly. I played with it in the backyard on song birds and AF seems a bit improved, especially 3D with animal eye tracking. I won’t get a chance to fully evaluate until after Christmas and the freeze here in SE Texas. People here aren’t use to below zero temps, which can freeze pipes that run through attics as there are no basements.

I did it to go to 3.0 and just recently 3.01. I had no problems whatsoever with it. Each takes a few minutes so be sure to have a fully charged battery in the camera. Possibly why there hasn't been discussion is due to folks having done enough of these there are fewer and fewer issues!

I have done the 3.01 update. It took about 6 minutes. You do not need to do 3.0 first. The 3.01 covers all previous updates.

Do not move or touch the z9 once you begin the update. Be patient as it takes a bit before anything shows on your LCD.

The updates are worth it for AF and related matters.

I have had V3.0 since it was released. Absolutely no issues. Plan on doing 3.1 this weekend. I also have some lens firmware to update. Best of luck.

The updates work great. Improved autofocus and several other nice little improvements. It has enough changes that they put an 80 page PDF on line with all the changes and how to use them.
