Took this photo this fall. I have shown it to several people. The overwhelming Opinion is that they don't care for it. It's because of the decay on the leaves. For some reason, I like it. I thought I would post it to see what all of you thought. Be honest. You won't hurt my feelings, it's just a matter of opinion. Thanks.

It may be a bit overcooked; that said, I find it well done and like it a lot. It has an artistic flair to it.

Thank you. That's sort of what I thought.

I love the lighting but I don't care for the subject or the composition. I'm going to have to join the negatives on this one.

Here is the big take-away: the only thing that matters is what you like. If you are looking to enter it into a contest or try to sell it; I would advise against it. If you want to hang it on your wall; go for it. Your opinion is the one that counts.

I'll admit to having a few photos that I know no one else would like and are not strong compositionally but I like them and I use them as computer/iPad/phone wallpapers and screen savers. They please me and I like to see them.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!

Maybe crop it so the subject leaf is closer to the right 1/3 to eliminate some of the busy background on that side. Might give it a little more pop. The colors are nice.

If you care to, could you explain the "overcooked" term? I saved the image to my PC and opened it in IrfanView with the Histogram displayed. It looks okay in that respect.

Thank you. The subject matter is what appeals to me. I guess because I'm old and decaying also. LOL. I appreciate you looking in and commenting.

Not my thing= the decay. I noticed the black spots on a lot of the leaves in a county park close to my home. And that is much earlier in the year. n

I like this image, but would like to see it as a culmination of a series; first the general scene of the area where the tree grows, the tree itself and finally the leaves as you have shown them.
