Well, nine photos are - The 1st photo was added only because I happen to like it was taken at the tomb of Kagemni in Saqqara near the Step Pyramid. Kagemni was the Chief Justice of all of Egypt during the Old Kingdom he was also the king's brother-in-law. The museum at Luxor was opened to the public in 1975 and specializes in the display of New Kingdom artifacts all unearthed in and around the old capital of Thebes

Beautiful! It's amazing to see better quality pictures of statues I've seen on TV. That's not the brand-new museum, is it? I know that they planned to move a lot of artifacts into the new one.

No, this place opened in 1975 & is noted for its New Kingdom artifacts -- The big multi-billion dollar place to be known as "GEM" - Great Egyptian Museum is "still" yet to be open - Maybe March/May of 2023 & maybe not -- Everything in Egypt takes lots & LOTS of time -- The 19 of us had an hour all to ourselves in the old but VERY current Cairo Museum during our last night in Egypt. The place still had all of Tut's Bling -

No --
All this "stuff" is the real thing -- At least that's what they told us

My wife and I were in Luxor earlier in the week and heading back there tomorrow from the Aswan area. The new museum despite rumors and NatGeo articles is years away.
