I often wondered why Blondie married that loser and stayed with him all these years since I have seen Blondie described as "a smart, sweet, and responsible woman" 
I Googled Blondie to see how long the comic strip has been around. One fun fact I discovered was that Blondie's maiden name was Blondie Boopadoop. Who knew? Other than Jerry C that is.

I have been happily married 34 years. My wife is a darling who puts up with my shenanigans daily. And “SMACK” we have been through a great deal together.
