1955.... I had one. A white and baby blue convertible.

I'll jump on the '55 wagon.
'57 was the greatest year for DeSoto. Groucho told me.
Mr. Autofocus got it right on the money. That grill bar with integrated parking/turn signal lamps found its way onto many an old Mercury, a.k.a. the sled (as in lead sled). And others too. That grill is/was so popular I wouldn't be surprised if someone is making reproductions.
Now I know why braces are sometimes referred to as a "grill"
"ATTA BOY JIMMIE!!!" You know your Desotos.
Only a year off. Pretty good Charlie.

a '55, and used as a grill replacement by many customizers!
You're right Vin. I don't know which I see more of on custom cars...this grill or '57 Cadillac wheel covers.

It’s delightful, it’s delovely, it’s Desoto.
They did have some great commercials especially on the Groucho Marx show.

I always liked Desotos. Not all but most.I can picture yours Dave. For not having fins it was a really nice looking car. My Dad had a '53 sedan that looked like it was waxed with a steel wool pad. It had fluid drive and was probably one of his cars that I liked least and he had many, many cars. The '57 Sportsman coupe that my buddy's dad had was one of my favorites. I loved the fins. Black and red...single headlights.
