This bird, although certainly not rare, is more frequently heard than seen. It occurs only in Colombia and northern Ecuador. It is related to our American Robins and other thrushes. This image was taken in the Amagusa Reserve in far NE Ecuador. This reserve has planted a variety of fruiting trees that this species (and many others) love to eat. The managers of the reserve have planted different species of trees and shrubs that fruit at different times of the year, so many of these birds that are difficult to see elsewhere can be seen dependably here.
A Black Solitaire, while not colorful, is striking.
This shot was taken with a Canon R5, a Canon 600 mm f/4.0 lens; SS 1/2000, f/4.0, ISO 10,000. Processed with PS and Topaz DeNoise AI. Significant crop from L and above to remove distracting branches.
Very nice, Topaz did a good job getting rid of the noise.
Really nice photo! 10000 ISO?!?! Beautiful Bird too!

Yes, I agree. Doesn't always give good results, but usually does.

Thank you. Yes, 10,000. I had been taking pictures of hummingbirds when this bird flew in. I got so excited, did not remember to drop SS. Certainly did not need 1/2000 of a second, but that what it was.
That is a good photo! Nice colors and the bird really shows well. TFS.
