Use some coarse sandpaper to scratch the bonding surface of the magnet for better adhesion.

What, no super glue?

Jerry, I have had excellent service from
CMS Magnetics.
Check out their online store.
I always dismantle and save the magnets from old used electric toothbrush heads. There are at least two in each head, they are nice & strong and repurposing is better than trashing.

There are several different formulations for different materials and strength of bond. One of them must have your name on it

Speaking of glue... If you haven't figured this trick out yet: place after opening, any/all glue (anything that dries after opening ie: sealed tubes and bottles!) inside a zip lock plastic bag. It will prevent (or at least slow significantly!) the glue from setting up between uses! Remove as much air as possible before zipping it completely closed.

Good idea. That's one reason I tend not to use super glue. I use it once, and it dries and hardens in the tube. the last time I bought it, I got half a dozen small tubes, so there's less waste. I see people on TV using it like regular glue. They grab the bottle, squeeze some out, and put the bottle away. Why doesn't it dry in the neck/dispenser? I received a 4 oz bottle of super glue from Amazon yesterday, and it came with three spouts. I guess they know their product.

The glue mfg's are going to hate me for that tip! I also suck out the last bit of air (into my mouth, not lungs). Yes, it even works/helps on super glue!

McMaster-Carr first rate descriptions, large selection and no minimum orders. If you have questions they are more than glade to answer questions over the phone or Email. I ordered from them at work at least once a week or more for 40 years.

There is a super glue release agent, and I bet that doesn't suck.

McMaster Carr is a GREAT resource! They not only have everything hardware related, every item has a link to a drawing complete with dimensions - invaluable)

I opened a ziplock with a tube of prior opened superglue today, it was opened at least a month ago, and it was not even stuck to the lid!
Another trick which I use is for caulking type tubes: Take a piece of metal foil tape (like used on duct work), press it into/over the opened end of the tube. Works pretty good, also! I often do this for glue tubes, prior to placing in the ziplock.
