Hi, Photoshop is generally considered to be the best on the market, and at $49.99 that is a steal you should live in the UK where it will cost around $110.00. If you decide to buy you will be amazed with the editing available.
I currently do not have any post production capability, and have never really seen a need for it due to it's expensive nature.
then why buy it if not needed .

I use PSE 11 with Topaz plug-ins.

It's a great piece of software at a great price. But, if you don't think you need PP software then it's just a waste of your money.
Most of us, however, will agree that we ALL need PP, if you do nothing else with it, your pictures will thank you for just sharpening them up a bit.
I agree with most of the replies but I have to say that pse 11 is a great tool to use.
once you have it you wont regret it. you say you don't think you need it. I think you find out there a lot things you can do with it and wonder how you did with out it? at that price go for it.

Have you ever not had something and not seen a need for it until you just happen across a chance encounter with it and now realize that you do need it?
I enjoy using Elements 10, but I've decided to wait for another round of Elements before upgrading. I have some purchased "actions" that would need to be re-loaded on Elements 11 so I'm jut going to wait. I do recommend Elements though...great program.
that is a great buy...and you will be surprised at how often this will come in handy...i have elements 8 and use it all the time...go for it..
I have Elements 11 and really like it. I first do my post processing in Lightroom 4. It is amazing. I only take a picture into Elements for something I cannot do in Lightroom.
Use Lightroom for processing and cataloging.
Note: I only shot in RAW so I must post process.
Hi thegrover....I have seen lots of great comments on Lightroom. That may be the next PP I invest in. I thought its strength was basically cataloging, but you use it for PP, too. What helped you decide to use both? Thanks.

I suggest visiting the Adobe website. The capabilities are more than I can describe. They do include changing white balance, exposure, contrast, clarity, sharpness, hue, saturation, and more. There are tools for area touch up, red eye and gradients. There are dozens of effect filters. You can also create virtual copies.
Lightroom 4.2 has soft proofing. Watch the video on that you will be amazed.

I have been testing both LR and PSE. In the past, I have used Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop and liked the workflow. I wanted to see if LR and PSE might improve it.
Here are some of my tentative conclusions. LR's Library is PSE's Organizer on steroids. For what I do, Organizer and Bridge handle what I call the "housekeeping" of photos. That is, I can label, file and add keywords to the files so I can find what I want. LR's Develop is inferior to Camera Raw and PSE. I can do 90% of my preliminary editing in Camera Raw. For some reason, PSE's Camera Raw does not have as many controls as does Camera Raw coming from Bridge or Photoshop.
My most surprising conclusion is how good PSE is. PSE has most of the same photo tools that PS has plus a few more and many wizards for additional tasks. Having used Photoshop and Illustrator for twelve years, I still hate the user interfaces. However, PSE has an outstanding one. Easy to use, easy to see. And the best part is that you can select an interface to match your needs: Quick, Guided, or Expert.
As for me, I will probably forego LR and use Bridge to download the pictures from the camera and to organize and catalog them. That will then lead me to Camera Raw and finally to PSE. I offer this to those asking the same questions and invite the advice of those more experienced than I.
so why not go to the Adobe web site and download a free trial??
I am enjoying/learning Elements 10 as well. Does anyone think that 11 is that much better than 10, and worth upgrading to?
