This past week has been a pivotal moment for the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) which earned more money from its male equivalent reaching the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar than it did from winning its own tournaments in 2015 and 2019.
As a result of the equal pay agreement forged earlier this year between the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the United States Women’s National Team Players Association (USWNTPA) and the United States National Soccer Team Players Association (USNSTPA), the men and women’s teams split all World Cup earnings.
Under the landmark agreement, US Soccer became “the first Federation in the world to equalize FIFA World Cup prize money” awarded to the teams for participating in World Cups.
Go USWNTPA you certainly deserve this!
Totally love Girl's/Women's Soccer!

Nice work Thomas, I enjoyed the first photo the most. Stellar capture with the player coming towards your position, foot on ball, angle of body and sporting a 3-Lions jersey. I hope the new equal pay system works out for both men's and women's teams but I'm sure there will be a little rebellion down the road. Anyways, looking forward to the upcoming USA/Netherlands matchup.
Rick
Thank you Vector and Rick for your kind words on Becca's finesse on the Soccer Pitch...
They are greatly appreciated!

Me to Rick, wonderful to see the Men's side of the US effort do well, albeit the on the Women's side of the equation they are simply awesome and have been for nearly a decade!
Hope you both have a fantastic holiday season with family and friends...
Cheers! Thomas
Thomas, great examples of capturing the action and intensity of soccer! Getting the face and ball in the frame is not the easiest, especially as players develop and become so fast. Loved the images! (And I agree with you completely on the 'equal pay' subject. The USWNT is deserving!)

Great shots Thomas. I've been a supporter of the USWNT for years and I'm glad to see them get a bigger piece of the pie. My take from the 3 men's games; they seem to be playing a little better each game, hopefully we'll see that continue against the Netherlands. It would be nice to see the men add a star to their Crest.
Hi Thomas
first, Great shots. Truly exquisite (as is your norm!)
second. Thank you for the information on how the men’s success thus far in their WC impacts the Women’s team. I had this exact question this morning watching the updates on TV. For the sake of the both teams, let’s hope the men’s team makes it a bit further.
Very nice Thomas. I always look forward to seeing your work ! Best. Paul
Nice shots. I had forgotten how much I like the look of grass in sports photos. Most all teams in this neck of the woods, and I use that term loosely, use synthetic turf and while it's great for maintenance, and keeping the field in playable condition it doesn't have the same look and feel in photos.

Hi Thomas:
Sorry for my delay at admiring your sports work. I finished editing two basketball games from last week.
Good work here. Exp. right on color great, whatever you shoot is fine work. You can tell you have a great deal of pride in your photos.
Jules
Thank you for your kind words John, and your continued support.
Both are indeed appreciated1
Thank you so much for your kind words and support Michael...
Means so much coming from another very talented soccer shooter...
Yes the game can (and does) move more quickly as this these young ladies mature into well conditioned athletes.
And it is so important to have the player's face and ball in the narrative... As well as showing team camaraderie... The joy of an epic goal or save... etc...
I honestly believe much of the success of youth league soccer comes from role models of outstanding players on the U.S. Women's Soccer Team, to name but a few...
Abby Wambach
Alex Morgan
Megan Rapinoe
Hope Solo
Carli Lloyd
Kristine Lilly
Alex Morgan
Least we forget: Coach Jill Ellis who guided squad after squad to victory
And finally Brandi Chastain who's timeless iconic moment was ripping off her jersey after clinching the 1999 World Cup. That single photograph graced countless Sports magazines and has become perhaps the most iconic Women's Soccer image of the past several decades.
Got to love the sport...
As for the U.S. men's team? Football is the dominate men's sport in the U.S. not soccer which finds universal support outside of the U.S. Accordingly top male athletes are drawn to "American" football, enough said.
Again thanks for your kind thoughts and support Michael.
I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful soccer images
Thank you for your kind words on Becca's images JimG1, I've watched her journey as an amazing striker over the years. She always arrives to the venue early and promotes much team camaraderie and passes off to her teammates who work into the open since she typically receives double coverage from defenders.
Yes I totally agree the U.S. men's team preformed admirably in it's first three matched... Strong defense!
And in the cliff hanger win over Iran I believe had many folks here in the U.S. cheering at their TV's.
What an impressive win.
Believe the Netherlands game was wonderful also, however the Netherlands simply out scored them.
Great to see U.S. men's team advancing...
