We went to walk the dog on a foggy, wet, clammy, cold day. Some clearing from the North while we were there, a cool breeze was barely tolerated by my arthritic hands and shoulders. Tide was out but a large number of migratory birds were evident. Saw and photographed American Wigeon, Green-wing Teal, Northern Pintail, and Mallards. Mist and general atmospheric distortion was at work again today. AF had fits at things beyond about 60 yards-stationary or moving. Managed a few. The Young Eagle flew around a few times really stirring up the ducks, gulls, GBHs, crows and so on. During one leg of its orbit it flew behind some tall trees, so I looked around and noted a couple of little guys in the bush ahead. The Canada Geese were so close that they were inside of the minimum focusing range of my 500pF.
I am pleased with the look of the D500 files overall, considering the atmospheric challenges.
