We recently took a trip to Michigan camping for 3 weeks. Ive got to say that the photo opportunities are almost endless. We left the Upper Peninsula the day before the first snow on October 7th. Still weeding through photographs for keepers. The Porcupine Mt Wilderness Was one of our favorite places. At roughly 60,000 acres, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness is Michigan’s largest state park. It sits on the Lake Superior shoreline and includes a 35,000-acre old-growth forest, waterfalls and miles of rivers and streams. Enjoy these two photographs!

Did you go to MI with the Airstream tour? One of my neighbors was on that tour.
Beautiful shots ... looking forward to future images. I mostly shoot over in northern Minnesota, but thinking of Porcupine Mountains next Fall.

Thanks, I've always hit the park in summer, and now know how it looks during it's Fall peak.

Your shots from Lake in the Clouds are nice but you should see it under good light. As a lifelong resident of Michigan, my choice for the most photo-scenic area of the U.P. is the Pictured Rocks in the Munising area with dozens of waterfalls and reflecting lakes.

Wonderful images of a beautiful place! We were stationed on the Keweenaw Peninsula for four winters. Thanx for sharing!
Thinking of a trip to UP next fall, based on other articles by UHHers, also. I came across this on the web:
"Access to Porcupine Gorge National Park (including the lookout and camping area) is fully sealed."
Any idea what "fully sealed" means?
Wow, that is a forest full of deciduous tree is full autumn glory. Wonderful images.
