For Wintel:
Make SURE you know WHERE your program is storing EACH type of file!

For posting on UHH, if the file is larger than 20 MB it won't take it. If too small, it will take it, but NOT store original. Very small files are considered "thumbnails". I don't remember the lower limit.
Thanks,
Your advice certainly is worth a try on my part to see what size file may trigger the correct result.
I still have the puzzle of UHH sets showing up in download size and shrinking to small size when I hit download under the image. ???? mysteries!

Thanks for the idea.
I just went back to the UHH site and discovered that the option called for is "store original". This is what is not working on my machine. At any rate, that is the only option given and I am still stuck.

As some one else said, there is a size limit. This article by a fellow high member CHG_CANON, will help.

Larry, if you are having this difficulty with downloading photo files from UHH forums, here are some directions and comments.
1. As you have done, click on the "Download" link.
2. The photo opens in a new page with your computer showing 100% of the image. Thus, the image will often look smaller than it really is. So, do not worry about this at this point.
3. Assuming you are using a Windows computer, right-click on the photo and select "Save image as."
4. Your computer should then give you a dialog box where you can accept the default file name or change it to any name you wish, and then press "Save."
5. The photo, in all its detail as was determined by the sender of the image, will now be on your computer.
6. Open the image in whatever program or way you do all of your other photos, and this one will open as usual. If you select 100% for viewing, you will see a very large image--larger than what UHH displays.

Thank you so much!
This is an extensive dive into this subject.
Not only do programs limit the maximum FILE size,
I know that Gmail, for example, has a limit on the maximum SIZE of the Total attachments to 1 Email.
While not having an extremely high resolution camera myself, I STILL run into this issue sending a number of
more reasonable size images.
Frank,
Thank you very much for the reference article. I will start to explore tomorrow and hope there is a solution somewhere in that piece. Sounds hopeful.

Send CHG_CANON an email and thank him. It's his article.
