When I attached my 70-200 to my extender it felt like it was unstable when attached to the camera body. It wiggled or whatever you want to call it. I discovered that on the extender the little screws had come loose causing the front part of it to jiggle. I got an eye glass screw driver and tightened them. Hope this helps someone with the same issue
Where the two pieces come together was not tight
I tightened these screws
I've had to do that several time on both extenders and long telephoto lenses that belong to me as well as to other members of a photo group, so I always carry a small set of jeweler's screwdrivers when I travel. Better to have a set and not need them rather than need a set and not have them. I also carry a set of Allen wrenches and a filter wrench.

Maybe consider Loctite? Just pick the grade (purple) that you can actually disassemble if needed
I've had that happen, too. Also had camera hot shoes and flash feet loosen with use.
When it happens I remove one screw at a time and put a tiny bit of blue Locktite on the threads to help prevent future loosening. That works great.
(Note: Never use red Locktite, the high strength stuff, in this application. If the camera or lens ever needs to be disassembled, it may be impossible with the red Locktite.)

Unless you’re willing to REALLY heat up your lens/camera
