Canon R7 CR3 files

Adobe PS & LR will not read my CR3 files from my new Canon R7 camera. The file directory and Topaz are will. I called Canon but they are closed until next Monday. Anyone out there solved this problem? How?

I primarily use the Canon software (DPP) anyway.

Well, it seems to not know what a .CR3 file is...
(I don't use either of those, so I wouldn't know. Someone else may.
I just wanted to make sure you weren't using an "old" version.)

Toby Canon has been using the CR3 format since 2018. Something strange is going on. There are third party programs that can change the CR3 to other formats if you want to give that a try.
Microsoft updated its Raw Image Extension to include the codec for CR3 files/ If you untick "Always show icons, never thumbnails" in File Explorer"s View>Options>Folder Options>View>Files and Folders in Windows 10, thumbnail images will now display. Besides your Adobe programs are out of date

Correct. If you have a valid subscription something is not correct. Run the Creative Cloud app and get the latest versions of those programs.

another work-around is to open these files in DPP and save them as tiffs to export to adobe

That issue is the only reason I got the subscription. I also have the R7 and like it very much.

On my computer, the updates sometimes show up on the start list but the ion will not automatically Pin To Start. I have to pin it to start manually when this occurs.
