Grew up in the Northeast, last place I lived was Ridgefield, CT. Sorry, but nothing beats the fall colors in New England. Living in the desert now and miss the colors. Although, we do have spots of fall color throughout the state of Arizona. Most of the fall colors are found in the northern section of the state, at high altitude. Been up to Flagstaff many times for a taste of nostalgia. However, if you know where to look, you can find some really nice color near Phoenix. There's a place called Boyce Thompson Arboretum, about 50 miles east of Phoenix that has pistachio trees that turn a bright yellow and then bright red. Been there a few times to see the colors. Went this past week and while not at peak, did provide some really nice colors. Hope you enjoy them.
(Did you spot the Palm tree among the colors?)

I tell you, I really long for these days again. What has it been? A couple of weeks - and for the last three days, fifty mph gusts and a wind chill around zero? Great shots 🔴🟡🟠🟡🔴
Beautiful colors. Yes, the palm tree is like a sore thumb. Very noticeable.
Beautiful fall set with a touch of the tropics, Tom!

My favorite tree at BTA is that huge one sort of in the center of the park. It's ginormous! And its fall colours are superb. I haven't been there for about a month. Looks like I need to get up there!
Welcome to AZ. The colour is here. You just have to know where to look for it.

Is it just me or does July seem just a couple of weeks past?

Pretty...love the colors!
I surely agree with the others, those are some great pictures. When I saw the title of your
posting - "Fall in The Desert" - I have to say that I hoped you had someone to help you get
up. (Just kidding, of course.)
While in the Army, I got to spend two short school-assignments in AZ at Ft Huachuca. (We
often referred to it as 'Fort WhoGotCha'.) I didn't get to see much of the State at that time,
but often said, "I'm comin' back some day." That 'some day' hasn't got here yet, but maybe
'Some Day!'
Again, thanks for the well-done photos . . .
