Four Turkeys

I tend to get things in multiples, for some reason, but I now have four turkeys. A few weeks ago, I read that a disease had wiped out thousands of turkeys. Not wanting spaghetti for Thanksgiving, I went right out and bought a turkey. Last week, they went on sale, so I bought two, as usual - Thanksgiving and Christmas. I placed an online order with Hannaford the other day, and I was surprised to see a 13 lb, $0.47/lb turkey already in my cart. Oh, well, why not? Someone at Hannaford had the clever idea to "pre-shop" for customers. Who was I to ignore his idea.

I'm very good at packing, so I was able to get three into the freezer while one is thawing in the fridge. I love turkey! I'll make the cranberries and pies ahead of time.

$.47 a lb is a really good price. I would probably offer it for $20k online though since there is a shortage. "If they can get it for Taylor Swift tickets why not?"

I don't care if there is a turkey shortage, as I don't like it. I am making lasagna for Thanksgiving.

How about donating them to a food pantry or soup kitchen?

My absolute all-time favorite meal is turkey dinner with everything which goes with it!!! Unfortunately, availability here always has been minimal and prices way too high for me. A couple times in the US while I was single, I bought a turkey breast, folded it around my stuffing, and baked it. I accompanied it, of course, with Ocean Spray cranberry, mashed potatoes and gravy, pumpkin pie, whipped cream, etc. Unfortunately, again, turkey breast is not available here.

Wild Turkey...yes...but it takes two.
Farm raised...no.

I always go with something special and different...unless we have guests.

Then Turkey.
