Went to Nikonrumors.com and saw survey results of 1000 photographers, 38% professionals and 72% amateurs. I found it fascinating.

Even more fascinating were the comments, most of whom cast doubt on the survey's methodology. Bottom line, take results with a rather full shaker of salt.

Obvious Man Sez . . .
I guess you only have to look as far as who paid for the survey, and they either or both:
1. Stopped taking the survey when the survey results trended in their favor.
2. Or they sifted through the data until they found or skewed the results to support their company.
Me, I would find it more interesting if the data did not support the funding company. This would NEVER Happen!
I would also have to look at the phrasing of the questions to see if they were leading the respondents to a predetermined conclusion.
As for me, I committed to Canon many years and $$$ ago, so changing horses is not an option for me.
However, survey results often make me . . . .

Interesting.
I wonder how much "bias" there may be because of brand name or technology hype,
or simply price.
I love/hate statistics. Anything can be proven (or dis-proven) with statistics.
Thanks for that. Interesting.
You have to be somewhat accepting of surveys. I doubt they went to a Canon convention to find the 1,000 people to interview. We are hit with so much false information - and outright lies - that we have to be suspicious, but this graphic seems reasonable.
Thanks. I hope no one switches to mirrorless because of the "smaller and lighter" argument. As I've mentioned before, my D750 and Z6 II are almost identical in in size and weight. Sure, if I used a scale and a tape measure, I would see a difference, but not in real life use.
Do the same survey three different time, and the results would be different, but the numbers presented here seem realistic to me. Another survey could swap Nikon and Canon for #1 and #2, but the difference displayed here is very small.
How is Nikon the biggest used by professional maker yet the Sony a7iii is the single camera most used by professionals.

Please see the "PS" in my post above.

It's possible as perhaps most of the Sony users use only A7III while Nikon users use a variety of models. I said it's possible I do not say anything about the accuracy of the survey.

If the majority of Amateurs use mirrorless and yet no specific mirrorless comes up as most used, then I see red flags.
Cameras are like religion and cars. Should you really care what someone else thinks is the best? Go with what suits you.

Surveys are surveys. I can find one that says the opposite. If any folks here believe in surveys to sway their opinions I have a bridge in NYC I will let go cheap.
