Just wow! You were lucky to be at the right place at the right time and/or had a good guide.

You mentioned three lenses. Did you have three bodies or change lenses as needed?

Thanks for your excellent documentation of your amazing trip.

Classic kitten transportation, very nice capture. Cat fanciers claim that gripping a cats nape is comforting to the cat because the cat recalls being moved by its mother in the fashion. I can say my cat does not object to gripping and mild pinching and twisting on his nape. I am not sure how it would work out on a lion.

I nominate you to go and try on a big lion and let me know!

Wow. Nearly 60 years ago I had my cameras packed and was headed for a Peace Corps project in Kenya when something Selective Service Local Board 112 changed life because of a deal known as Viet Nam. I still hope to get to Kenya one of these days.
Great shots. Thanks for starting my Saturday with a big smile. Keep shooting.

You are more than welcome. Thank you for your service and I’m sorry it messed up your trip, you should go now!

I had 2 bodies. The 100-500 was on one and the 600mm on the other. The few times I needed the 24-105 I would trade out the 600 on one body. 3 bodies would be nice, but at some point weight is an issue!

These are wonderful. I can relate to your excitement at finally being able to see and capture this. I'm not sure I would have had the presence of mind to raise my camera!

Oh you would have! Actually there are times I have to tell myself, just stop with the shutter and enjoy what is in front of you!

Below is one of those times I just watched the beautiful cheetah walk by so close!

Super seris. The ones where you can see the cub's face are outstanding.

Excellent series! That's the same way my mother used to carry me when she had both hands full.
