Hi friends....I am sure this topic has been covered To Death, and for this I apologize. I have a little Nikon D3300 which I LOVE. It's simple and easy and I never have to think as I use it. Alas, it's getting a bit worn as I have almost used it to death. I am in the market for an upgraded body, but as I have quite a few lenses that I use a lot, I still want the F-mount and whatever else the specs are with the D3300. I am retired, NOT professional and just take photos to please myself.....mostly macro, landscape and family stuff. What would you all recommend as a logical step up? I'd like to not outgrow it, yet have it a bit more sophisticated than my little D3300. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience! Rita
The D5600 sounds like a good choice for you. I had aD5500 and loved it.
My brother upgraded from the D3300 to the D7200 and absolutely loves it.
Thank you....I've been seriously considering that one. Is there much difference between the D7200 and the D7500?

That I can't help you with. I'm embedded in the Sony ecosystem, but my brother considered the 7500 but chose the 7200.
Thank you! I'll do that now. Rita
I upgraded from the D5500 to the D7200. Loved it even more.
I went from the 5500 to the 7200 and loved it. There is a big difference but the transition was easy. It is a rugged camera. I bought it for several reasons that may or may not be useful to you. but a couple that will probably impress you are the viewfinder (pentaprism) which is superior to the 3300 (pentamirror). The second reason I liked the 7200 was because it has two card slots. Last year I bought the d500 which is another animal all together. I love it but do miss the built in flash. To me it is a far superior camera to the d7200
You would probably opt for the 7500 over the 7200 because it is newer technology. It has a tilt screen and I think you can still get it new whereas the d7200 is only available used and refurbed.
These cameras use all you current F lenses
No matter which camera you go to there will be a learning curve so I would suggest you buy a book for that camera. I like the David Busch books. They have been very helpful learning and setting up my cameras
Good luck with your decision and let us know your selection
Chuck
Thank you for taking the time to share that info! I'm most definitely leaning towards the D7500. I have no objection to buying used. Thanks again! Rita

I think I would skip the 5xxx series and go to the 7xxx series. the 7200 or 7500 are great cameras...both weather resistant and more rugger than the 3xxx or 5xxx series. then there is the d500 which you wont outgrow
The D7200 would be a great upgrade from the D3300. The sensor is wonderful on that camera and the user interface will be similar to what you have been experiencing on your D3300. It has a very good focusing system and is the type of camera that can give you years of good service.
Thank you! Focus is my biggest frustration.
