I am NOT a Starbuck's fan, but would be remiss not to point out that they have MANY different sources, blends and roasts of coffee. While their prices are outrageously high, it is totally unfair to condemn the quality of their product on one sample - or even a few. For many years I have been extremely selective of the coffee I will use, and critical of almost all of what is available - anywhere - at any price.

This is one of the reasons I don't go to Starbucks. I don't speak their language. This clip was done by workers at Samuel's in Rhinebeck, NY, a coffee shop owned by actors Paul Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Anderson (Walking Dead).

I tried Starbucks coffee once.
It was the worst coffee I had ever had. 😫
I don't think I'll ever have the courage to try another.

A few years ago I noticed the younger working set buy Starbucks coffee three or four times a day. Personally, I don't dare for their coffee, but watching the younger people I bought Starbucks stock. It was much better than their coffee.

Yep…tastes burnt because it is over roasted and well, burnt…and it's $3 for every foreign word in the name I think.

Totally agree with you. In Canada, Tim Horton's coffee is way better, but snobs and poseurs must have Starbucks 🙄

On a more positive note: Starbucks teaches you a foreign language.

Yes, even with improper usage as this clip Jerry shared with us illustrates.

So, it appears I am alone. We have been drinking Starbucks French Roast every morning for more than 20 years. I grind it fresh each time. We love it. On sale at Costco it is relatively cheap, but that’s not the point. The point is we like it. I don’t fault you if you don’t like it, so please don’t fault me if I do like it. But, wow, you sure are dumping hard on something as innocuous as a cup of coffee. Come on Hogs! I can’t be the only Starbucks fan.

I agree with you. It's not my favorite coffee but I do like their Pikes Place roast black and I have no idea why people say it tastes burnt. For years I ground my own fresh roasted beans and used pour overs, French press, Clever drippers, and various other combinations. But I found a couple of dark roast Keurig pods I like as well as any fresh roast and I've been using them since.

I tried 4 cups in my teens when I had to get up at 5 for a 7 o'clock class, black, heavy sugar, heavy milk and heavy sugar and milk. Major yuck no matter what you did with it. Thankful as I can't imagine how many thousands of dollars I've saved since.

JP, you have got a good point. And so I admit to loving their coffee cups, and we've collected them till our cup overfloweth. We'll be in Mazatlan in a couple of weeks and I'll try to make that one the last of our collection.

My granddaughter probably has 50 cups from different countries around the world. And there are many different blends, some of which I don’t particularly like. Come on Hogs. It’s 2022. Maxwell House and Hills Brothers drinkers are probably still shooting with Pentax Spotmatics.
