Our third attempt at a visit.
The first two were Covid Cancelled.
It took us a little more than 24hrs travel time which included a plane change in London to get here. As you can tell, these were taken through the hotel room window. The Hotel is located on the Cairo/east side of the Nile facing west - The city you see is Giza. This is the start of an 11-day tour of Bronze Age Egypt. Cairo is a noisy smelly horn-honking place knee-deep in people with a population of more than 20 million.
As soon as I down-size some more photos I'll send a few more along.

So dazzlingly eye-catching at night, and they're beautifully done
You comment that "Cairo is a noisy smelly horn-honking place knee-deep in people with a population of more than 20 million."
That is exactly how I described Cairo on my first visit in 1974. I also said that despite this, the city was marvelous.
Since that first visit I have been back many, many times - on business mostly. I still think the city and its residents are the most exciting and generous you will find. I love the city.
Enjoy yourselves.
Many thanks for the pictures. I lived in Cairo for more than five years, and your photos brought back many memories and a touch of nostalgia. I hope you have a great visit. Remember there is not a single Egypt. Just in Cairo you can visit Pharaonic Egypt, Coptic Egypt, Islamic Egypt, and modern Egypt. Each of these is worth studying (although of course not on just one visit!)
