Z9 and CF Express card

When I download my photos from the CF Express card it goes to a DCIM file.
I have an Apple iPad and iMac desktop computer.
When downloading from an SD card the images go directly to my Photo file.
Is it possible to have the CF card’s images go directly to my Photo file?

If you do the download yourself using the operating system you can get the files to go wherever you want them to go.

Exactly what I use (File Explorer in Windows). Places the files where "I" want them.

I am a Nikon shooter with a Z9 and am having trouble understanding your problem. I use windows computers and downloader pro and a card reader to download my Z9 images.
With the card reader attached and the CF card in the card reader, I see the DCIM file folder on the CF card. I click on this file folder and in downloader Pro I specify where I want the images to go on my windows computer.
Try using Nikon Transfer now part of Nikon NX Studio. It is free and does pretty much the same as Downloader Pro. It work on both Macs and windows.

I’m betting a lot of you don’t want to hear and won’t believe that ALL hardware, operating systems and applications (programs) are as dumb as a rock. They do exactly what you tell them to do! They have no “intelligence” real or artificial.
You can copy or move the files into folders of your choosing in any of many ways. Presumably you could use the typed command language but not without several try’s. Using the Finder/Explorer seems better but might be error prone. Better would be a purpose built utility if you an find one.
But (This is the part you won’t like!) I think the easiest and most error free method is the Import Dialog of Lightroom Classic. Bull you may say! Well you just:
1)Select the source either the camera, memory card or other source;
2)If you want, select a subset of the images to be included or excluded;
3) Choose to Copy or Move;
4) Select the Destination including: Drive, Folder location and naming scheme;
5) If you wish you can select a file renaming scheme.
6) Press import. If you don’t want to use the catalog just delete it.
For example, not only because I use LrC exclusively for managing my images, I have developed an incredibly short attention span for boring routine tasks resulting in grievous errors. So my work flow before I get to the fun stuff in the Develop Module is as follows:
1. If necessary, Start Computer, launch LrC and open Import.
2. The memory card from the camera is inserted into the $5 USB 3 card reader mounted as U: and select that drive as source.
3. Check that the settings have defaulted to Copy to destination D:/Master Image/2023/2023-11/2023-11-05 (Date Shot which is one of LrC’s standard options.)
4. Tell LrC to add the the files to a catalog named [Shoot Name].
5. I quickly examine the screen to make sure they are the photos I was expecting and uncheck obvious culls like the ever popular photos of my shoes, inside of a dry bag or the back side of the lens cap. And I cull obvious out of focus and WT* is that?
6. The I start the import and wander away until it finishes.
That scheme is one that has been refined over years since LR 3.0.
For the record the current computer is a future proof built Windows 11 desktop by Puget Systems with fastest available memory and storage sized 2x larger than needed. D: is a 1TB m.2 drive dedicated to photography storage.

Maybe it is OK for me to mention this in this thread. I have noticed that anytime I open a Z9 file into Photoshop the computer also puts the file in my Pictures folder. I opened the pictures folder and noticed several thousand images within. All duplicates of unedited photos that I have viewed in Photoshop. I deleted the files, and now delete the useless duplicate files on a regular basis. Also, I use Nikon NX Studio to browse images.
1) Anyone know how to stop this useless B-S.
