Credit Card Issue

I recently noticed a strange charge on my cc statement. When I went to question it, I was notified that the card would be canceled and a new one issued.

I use this card for many repetitive and auto-pay things. Changing all of those would probably take days, so I decided to wait. (Charge turned out to be legit).

I had previously tried to get an extra card that I would only use for online or auto payments, but cc company would issue it. Only one card per family member.

I suspect that many UHH members face the same problem. Any advice on solutions?

Should say cc company would NOT issue extra card.

I just check our cards on-line every 2-4 days. Same with the checking account.

If I see something questionable, I'll ask my wife if she bought something online at <place> for <$ amount>.

It's nice to be able to catch something, especially while it is still "pending".
Yea, we have things on auto-pay also.

If one credit card company won't issue two cards, just go to another credit card company. That simple.

One friend of mine purchases credit cards at his grocery store. He can put whatever amount on that card he wants. That is the one he uses for all online purchases. Of course, the card can't be used for more than is on the card.

Personally, I have three. Each is used for specific purposes. They are from different credit card companies.

I've considered getting a "re-loadable" card for on-line purchases, that way I might be able to limit any loss/problems. I wonder what any re-load-to-use may be.

I just thank my lucky stars that my wife does not do that. I'd have to find a different way to make my purchases.

A “FRIEND’s” wife had her credit card stolen a year ago and he still hasn’t reported it because the the thief is spending less than she did. 😳

You may also want to see if your Card company offers "virtual card numbers".
