Please tell me why or why not I should purchase the 60D rather than the T4i as my next camera beyond my T1i? Thanks
!

Snapsort does a pretty good comparison. Here's a link"

DPReview with also give a side by side of specifications of each. But if I were you I would to your Camera Store and hold each one and play with it for a bit, The one that feels the best is the one you get. Just like trying out different women, oops I didn't say that.

What are you wanting to use it for? The T4i does better video especially with the new STM series lens. The T4i has a higher ISO, a touch screen and a built in stereo mic. The T4i has the newer DIGIC 5 processor and the 60D has the older DIGIC 4 processor.

The 60D has a bit better build quality, a slightly larger body, and a top LCD.

For me, I would go with the 60D, between these two models. For a little more there is always the 7D.

I went to tramsey's suggested website to remember why I picked the 60D over the t4i. I absolutely love the 60D and I probably would have loved the t4i as well. I don't think you can make a wrong decision here.

One of the major reasons I went with the 60D is feel. It will also stand up to more use, (dust and water resistant) and last you a life time... If you ever buy another camera the 60D will be an excellent back up as well.

I have to agree with Iduno, you can't go wrong with either one. I picked the 60D over the t3i about a year ago. Love the camera! Earlier this fall I wanted a second body so I bought the t4i. The t4i is slightly smaller, a bit lighter, and has a few more bells & whistles then the 60D. What it doesn't have is the top mounted LCD and pentaprism viewfinder which is noticeably brighter in low-light conditions. Even with equal picture quality, I still consider the 60D to be my primary camera.

Yes, I like the 7D and, of course, the 5D, but I'm retired now and cost is definitely a consideration.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I'll probably go with the 60D body and use my T1i lenses (the ones that came in that kit plus a 50mm 1.8 I bought a year or so ago.

I would go with the t41 and better glass. This gives you the chance to build your lenses and then when the newer bodies come out, since you do not have too much invested in the t41, you can use it as a second body and move up. New bodies are being pumped out, like their is no tomorrow. LOL The t41 is a fine camera. BV

Right now I can get either of the cameras for $799 at the camera store where I shop in Nashville. This is body only for the 60D or the T4i with a 18-55 lens.

Ask your Store Rep, which camera would hold its value more, down the road.
The T4i, has the newer technology and better Video. You will be happy with it, I have one and so far so good. BV

I'm now at this decision point....also, noticed that Canon has an EOS 6D
( http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_6d ) shown under their NEW PRODUCTS....just for your info.....I'm listening to all your comments about how to choose...thanks for them.....and, by the way, Canon has a "Loyalty Program"....if you have a Canon that can't be repaired, they will accept it and give you your choice of cameras, from their discontinued line, at a greatly reduced price...if anyone is interested, you can call 866-443-8002 for information....couldn't overhaul my Powershot S2 IS so are offering, as an example, the T4i with 18-135mm lens for $576 +tax.....do you think this is a great price??....I am also pricing the 60D and trying to decide which.......

About EOS 6D
Digital SLR Camera
Item Code: 8035B002

PS: Just noticed this under another post concerning a recall of the T4I.......you may want to read it.....

Wouldn't be Drurys would it? Great camera store. Every time I tell the wife that I am going to Drurys she says she wants my check book and debit card, I can't be trusted to come back empty handed.
