Supposed to be here Wednesday from B&H Camera. Thought I would give it a try. Should have asked before ordering one but what are your thoughts on this little light?

I’m not sure if this would help. Perhaps taking a white linen cloth and secure it to the light with a rubber band or a metal clip.
I rarely use flash. I dial up or dial down the ISO. My friends call me lazy. Probably because I had never used a flash properly or was taught how.

The light has it's own softbox which is better than linen cloth the light is still bright in a dark situation. I use it mostly to light background or edge/hair light when the light is not in the persons face.
I like flash on people and macro subjects, and some sports.
Nothing wrong with natural light. I see some great portraiture from natural light but you have to learn how to see the light which is a skill in itself. Controlling the light with flash is easier.

I was unaware of the soft box feature. Thank you for sharing. Now I have to practice using a flash.
This little light can be adjusted from one% to 100% brightness and can also just the color balance to match what you are shooting. This will just be in addition for special uses to what I already have and not be a main source of light. I have four Nikon SB900 and a Nikon SB800 speed lights with Pocket Wizards as my main light source. This is just something that I thought could come in handy to add to what I already have.
The naming of their products is confusing. The company is Lumecube and their original product was an ~2 inch cube small LED light. Great for macro work and lighting of select features for night photography. The larger products are now prefixed with "Panel". Great for the use grandpaw described.

Yup,,,,,,,been using one for years for video and indoor macro photography. Bought another one. Love these little lights. Have even used them during power outages and doing certain home repairs where lighting is limited in tight spaces.
I have used it mostly for still life but it has come in handy a few times when I just needed a hair backlight or even just a little more light. Its range is not great.
I've had one for a couple of years. I use it as a supplemental light source to take of shadows in a variety of shooting situations. It's good for only a short range but I like the ability to change the color balance and its portability. It takes up almost no room in the bag.
I bought one a few years ago...cute...has some purpose for shooting video...not much for still.
I also bought the Manfrotto LUMIMUSE 8 around the same time. Much brighter...it's the one I use for macro video.
I have -- and love -- the Lume Cube Mini mostly for macro shooting, so not sure how to comment on more expansive uses. Actually have two plus all the accessories -- barn doors, filters, etc.
Let there be light! Let us know how you like it. It seems to be a good device for a good price.
And potentially no sales tax.
