The term "wild-eyed" comes to mind. Nice shot!
Here all the time I didn't know there were cowboys in Hawaii, just surfers, people handing out leis and hotel workers
Great shots - tack sharp
I too was surprised at how many cowboys we have on the Big Island and the stands were packed full also. We do have a thriving cattle ranching sector on the island. Near Waimea is the Parker Ranch, which I believe is the largest ranch in the USA. And it’s been around since the 1800’s. I shot the photo with a Fujifilm 200mm f2.0 lens wide open with the 1.4 extender. Full frame equivalent of a 400mm f2.8.
I like that the roper and calf's feet are all off the ground - great timing ! ......thanks for sharing
terrific capture of expressions!!

Wow, that is really a fantastic shot. Rodeos are really fun and the few small town events we have been to have allowed me to catch a few shots that I really enjoy. Yours has given me the inspiration to give it another try next summer.
