Belted Kingfisher

Our daughter lives in Denver, about 2 blocks from City Park. I enjoyed my daily walk to visit the rookery there, and I saw this female belted kingfisher every day. I've never been able to get a decent photo of this cool bird, but I was pretty happy with this one. I love all of the water droplets, as she is coming out of the water with her catch.

Thanks, Larry. Lots of room for improvement, but I'm thankful for the opportunity to see and photograph this bird. :)

These guys are so tricky! I spent a whole morning trying for a good picture. They like to stay just out of reach.
