I invited Tradio to answer, or not to answer, publicly or privately through direct message. I did not render any opinions, or take a position. I just asked a question to which the recipient can answer if he chooses to or not. I did not invite nasty comments from others watching this post who feel the need to say something meaningless in a non productive fashion.

I love UHH for the positives it brings, but there are some very mean people who feel the need to belittle others. I strive to and hope that I am constructive, kind and add value in 100% of my posts and comments.

Yup.... I just went through it with a tire shop. I had new tires put on 5th wheel. I got up to walk around and caught the guy taking my fenders off. I asked him why and he said he had to to get the tires off. I told him no.......... And went back inside after showing him how, and told the manager... Short story. I lost the gender on the road somewhere, only hanging by one f screw. He had tightened the so right they pulled through. He also pounded the hubby off with a hammer, running it. Manager said he would get the gun but had no idea how to get fender. Said if I found them he would pay for them. Nope... When I have him the estimate for me I got two months of him and have. I went to BBB, who was useless... .. All they do is send the letter. No more. I'm on my own.

It's not just Peak Design. All companies are experiencing financial distress in our current economic recession. Smaller companies like Peak Design have more problems weathering it than larger companies.

Not that controversial. Peak Design is involved in conservation efforts and donates a percentage of their proceeds to groups that work to protect the environment.

Me too. They are on all of my cameras and lenses. They claim to never have had an anchor break, but they replaced them for free when they developed a new and better version. That’s pretty classy.

Not exactly...if you know the words to use. Look at the mission statement, who they represent, what they represent, and what they tell the public about their members and membership in general. If they fail to respond, it constitutes misrepresentation, breach of contract, and unethical practice on their part. Always got my way with BBB, because I understood their vulnerability. Remind them of who they are, their representation, and their reputation.

I had two members removed from the BBB...the BBB forced these individuals to pay what the owed me...the BBB asked me later if I would OK their reinstatement into BBB, and I said no, and gave them an extensive reason why. I had asked the BBB to intervene on my behalf, and they did. A person needs to think through the entire process, use reason and logic in your defense, anticipate a rebuttal argument, and be firm, logical and persuasive in your own defense. Write your complaint, follow up, and stay committed to the outcome that favors your position. Remember, the BBB does not want bad publicity, and the suggestion of writing a letter to the editor or securing the advise of an attorney, may be all you need to get their attention. I have used these tactics effectively in my business dealing with the BBB, even out of state, and I have always received satisfaction. So, stay calm, state your case logically and persuasively, be prepared to deal with the rebuttals, and be firm in your position and the anticipated outcome that favors your position. Be committed!

Another vote for taking it up with your credit card company. Amex gold will reimburse you for a product you are not happy with and the merchant won't take back. I've only used it once in decades, another time for a product not delivered, and once on their extended warranty. But all reasons why I shop with it.

I do not understand how the BBB forced someone out over one complaint. I also do not understand how they FORCED someone to pay you. The BBB has absolutely no authority. They are only a third party that Andrea as a middle person and contacts a business for you, that's it. If there is not response after two contacts, they close the case.
